Once camp was over, we could do some fun stuff together as a family. Well, almost fun. Keith got home and realized he had left all of his dirty clothes in a basket in the closet of his dorm room at UCA. So, back to camp we went on Monday to see if we could find them. Unfortunately, they weren't there :( We looked around for a little and then had lunch at IHOP. Their pancakes made Keith feel a little better.
We also stopped at this large shoe store they have in Conway and got Eli a pair of Crocs. I have been telling him that he needed to wear sandals in the summer - it was too hot and taking too long to put on socks and tennis shoes all the time. He was very uninterested in the idea - until he saw the camouflage pair. Well, that's what he got - and I'm happy to say that he has worn them almost every day! So much easier and faster.
On the way home, we took a different route and stopped at the lake to swim for a while at the "beach". E and C loved it. We tried Claire's lifejacket on her and she was ok with it until she got in the water. It might be a while before that's a go. I don't know that we'll be on a boat any the rest of the summer anyway, so I guess that will be ok. Of course, E found a little friend to build sand castles with until we left. He is so friendly and has never met a stranger. Not at all like me - definitely his daddy. Memaw and Papaw talk about camping one time when Keith was 2 or 3. They looked up and he was gone. They found him at the next camp site just talking to the campers like he'd known them forever. That would be MY son too!
