So, Keith has been home from Dixie for TWO weeks and it's been so nice for him to be home and so so busy! We have had something to do almost every day. I know he was only gone for 2 weeks, and I was totally obsessed about it - but it was super difficult sometimes just getting through the days. Don't get me wrong, we definitely made it - and much better than I ever thought, but it was tough. While he was gone, I found my The Power of a Praying Wife book and started reading/praying through it again. As I've been reading, I realize that when I started it years ago, I only got through the first few. I hope it's making a difference - I think it is. Maybe I can find The Power of a Praying Parent next! I know it's here somewhere.
On Wednesday of the 2nd week of camp, I made a last minute decision that we would go to Conway on Thursday and spend the night. We boarded Allie and were out of town by 10 Thurs. morning. I was very proud of us! We met Keith for lunch at Chili's and Eli was so excited to see him. We hung out for a little while and then checked into our room - after we found it. I don't know Conway (but know it a little better now) and could NOT follow the directions I got off the Holiday Inn Express website. Finally found it and we got checked in. It was a nice room, but way too small for my 2 kids! They were so rambunctious, I just knew we would get complaints or something! :P They are so good at pestering each other and it was just too much, so when Keith got done with his class at camp, we all went shopping for a while. Nonna and Papaw came to visit, too, and hung out with C and E while Keith and I went to Marketplace for dinner. Yummy!
Eli was very excited to swim in the indoor pool, although it was super cold. I guess we thought that it would be warmer, since it was inside. Boy, we were wrong! But, he had a good time anyway. We took his new lifejacket and he did well with it. Last year, we couldn't get him to put one on. It took him a bit before he would trust us that he could float. Definitely needs swimming lessons! Claire didn't enjoy the cool water as much and just wanted to run around the pool and throw her boat in so I could get it. She would also sit on the edge and kick her feet. Until she fell in - face first! Of course, she was ok - but it scared her to death. Poor baby. I just knew she would never touch the water again, but it didn't phase her too much.
On Friday, Nonna and Papaw took the kids home with them and I did some shopping - all by myself! Keith and I met for lunch at San Francisco Bread Co - I love that place! I tried something new and it was good - turkey, chipotle something or another. Then, I went back to camp and hung out with Keith and Blake for a little bit and then we ran to Old Navy to get Blake some pants that he needed for a picture. Since he and Keith are associate members on the board, they needed to dress up a little more than usual. We ate dinner at Taco Bueno and I headed for home. It was a great trip and I'm so sad that I didn't get any pictures of all of us at camp. Oh well, there's always next year! I am very thankful that God got us through the 2 weeks.
